Birthday Bash Cancelled

October 9, 2020

Hello Everyone!

Ed and I have decided to cancel the November Birthday Bash Campout at Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay.  When the rest of our summer schedule was cancelled, we had been optimistically hoping we could still continue this tradition.

We recently participated in the informal get together at Soo Locks, and found it difficult in inclement weather to enjoy our short time together.  Not saying we did not have fun, but it was not comfortable in the wind, rain, giant puddles outside our door……

In years past, we have made great use of the shelters and fireplaces at Potawatomi Park for a pot luck, evening games, and telling of tall tales.  Weather was not a factor!  With the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, we cannot in good conscience host an event, indoors, with inadequate ventilation.   Dining out Friday night may not even be possible.

Let’s stay safe, so we can all get together next Easter weekend at Peninsula State Park.  We miss everyone, and look forward to meeting new members too!

Please call me or email if you have any questions.

See you down the road,

Wisc-UP Season Events Canceled

Dear Wisc-UP Club members,

I’m writing with the sad news that our entire 2020 schedule of events may be canceled–the Birthday Bash may yet be scheduled.  Emerick’s will decide whether to host it, or not, depending on the state of the pandemic in the fall.

I have decided that because others who know more than me, e.g., The State Fair, World Dairy Expo, Summerfest, have canceled the kind of interaction Road America would have I will not encourage our members to attend the VSCDA Vintage race weekend in September.  We will not attend but I do have paid tickets and camping that I will give to anyone who wants them.

I regret having to send this message but I think it is best for our health and well-being.

See you down the road.
